15-Minute Halloween Crepe Party: Spooky Fun the Kids Can Make

Happy Halloween! Before the trick or treating starts, here is a quick, messy, brilliant treat the kids can help make.

A crepe mix means no weighing and no fuss: just add milk, whisk and cook. Then it is over to the little ones to decorate.

Ready in about 15 minutes, makes around 8 crepes

You will need

Method

  1. Make up the batter following the pack instructions and let it rest while the pan heats.
  2. Rub a non-stick pan with a little butter and heat over a medium heat. Pour in a small ladle of batter and swirl to cover the base.
  3. Cook for about 1 minute until the edges lift, flip and cook for 30 seconds more. Keep warm on a plate while you make the rest. Grown-ups on pan duty, please.
  4. Spread each crepe with chocolate, fold into triangles and let the kids decorate.
  5. Make ghost faces with marshmallows and a dot of chocolate for eyes, and banana slices for pumpkin smiles. Dust with icing sugar for a spooky mist.

Make it your own

  • Savoury first? Fill a few crepes with ham and cheese for a quick dinner before dessert.
  • Use strawberry marshmallows for bloodshot monster eyes.
  • Always check every label for allergies when cooking for friends' children.
