Vinho dos Mortos is a red wine from the Trás-os-Montes region of Portugal, produced by Adega Vinho dos Mortos in Boticas. The name comes from a Boticas tradition dating from 1807, when villagers buried their wine to hide it from French troops; the wine is still aged underground for one to two years.
